ENROLLMENT & SCHEDULE
Students typically enroll at CSDC between the ages of 4.5 and 6 years old starting with our Junior Program and stay with CSDC through high school. Because of this, our older programs are sometimes at full capacity with returning students. It is possible for new students to join CSDC in the older programs and the best way to inquire about class space availability is to email us and tell us a little about your dancer. Let us know your students age/grade and if they have any previous dance instruction.
The learning style, vibe, and general culture of a class is considered before adding a new student to a core class. The poteial new students personality, work style, behavior and abilityis also considered through an audition and/or trial period before joining. Families in our community appreciate the long term relationship and personalized arts education they receive at CSDC. Upholding the quality experience for long term student will be prioritized over adding a new student to a class.
Our class schedule is not publicly posted online. All classes are held Mon-Thurs between the hours of 2:30pm and 9:00pm. The earlier time slots are generally for younger students, and the later hours for the older students.
Please take a moment to read about our Basic and Additional Programs to get an idea of the type of experience CSDC students have. We would be happy to answer any questions you have about our programs either by email or in person. Email us to set up a time to come by and take a tour of our studio and discuss in person!

POLICIES TO NOTE
CSDC is a small studio in Willow Glen that’s been run by the same family for 30 years. We pride ourselves on teaching real tap and ballet technique in a fun and nurturing way. Our small classes enable us to carefully customize instruction to each student’s individual needs. And our high-school dancers serve as powerful role models for our younger dancers, modeling good attitude and advanced dance technique, mentoring them as they develop their skills, and making CSDC into a positive and friendly community.
Because CSDC is organized this way, we have several important policies related to classes and payments. We’ve developed these policies over the years to ensure that everyone has a fair and fun experience.
First, we warmly invite you to work with us to place your dancer in the correct class. Often, your first request will line up with what we were thinking, and no further discussion is required. Sometimes, however, based on factors like age, grade, and previous dance experience we’ll suggest that a different placement may be more appropriate. The goal is to ensure that your student is challenged appropriately, and is neither bored or overwhelmed.
Second, we cannot accommodate drop-ins to our classes as they are too disruptive to the customized way in which we teach. Instead, we ask that parents work with us to place their student in the correct class before the student comes for the first time.
Third, tuition is due in full each month regardless of how many lessons your student attends. When you enroll, we will email you tuition invoices using FreshBooks bookkeeping software. You can pay online or with a check made out to “Center Stage Dance Co.”. We prorate the tuition through the entire season to adjust for holidays and breaks. Make-up lessons are offered when we cancel class. But we regret that we cannot offer individualized make-up lessons for student absences.
Fourth, CSDC classes all have a dress code, which is detailed on our dress code page. Proper dance attire allows students to move freely without restriction while also preventing unnecessary distraction. In particular, large skirts and tutus are not allowed because they tend to be a big distraction.
Fifth, while our small class sizes ensure we can carefully customize our instruction, classes can’t be too small.
